Several people have asked for a list of all of the default drum kits that come with the Alesis DM8 module. I'm assuming this list is the same for the DM8 USB and DM8 Pro. The DM8 has 200 kits - 100 are preset from the factory and their are 100 blank kits for the user to customize.

hello
ReplyDeleteI am getting ready to buy Alesis DM8 USB kit and found You'r blog recently. Few questions came to me:
1. After few months of usage - does it work good, are there any malfunctions or weak points?
2. Are toms dynamic? Can You play louder and quieter on them like on Alesis DM8 Pro kit?
3. Would You recommend this kit for beginner?
I just bought the Alesis DM8 and I just love it. I've been out to the business for over 20 years and just started playing in a group at my church. I like the Alesis for several reasons:
ReplyDelete1)The sound is great.
2) I like the feel of the heads. I realize they're not the expensive Rolands, but I think the response is very good and very much like a real drm head.
3) I really like the fact that I can control the volumn when I play in church or in a small group.
4)It's great to be able to hook up my headphones and laptop to the set and play along with recorded music and no one has to listen to me practice.
5) Another biggie for me is the fact they're so easy to move around, tear down and set up. They're not heavy at all, which I appreciate. All in all, it's a very good drum set and I highly recomended it.
One thing I wish I could do is find or program a setting that sounds like brushes. I tried the Bop Brushes and that doesn't give the smooth jazz sound I'm looking for. If anyone has any suggestions I's love to hear them.
Great blog, Thanks for starting it.
need some help, I can not save a kit mounted on the 100 band, the loc is unlocked only when I unplug unsaved, can someone help me?
